Deer Creek gets its name from the natural spring creek that runs through the heart of community. The natural variety in the landscape defines the shape of our community — surrounded by pillowing trees, creating a 1 mile greenbelt. Parks and playgrounds are located throughout Deer Creek. Just north of the creek is a 6.5 acre park connected to the trail systems. In the future another 10 acre city park will be developed south of the creek as well. City parks are also located on the north and south end of the neighborhood. The parks are fun, easy, and safe to access for the whole family!

Deer Creek is approximately one mile from I-35. Residents will have easy access to downtown Des Moines, the Des Moines International Airport, and Ames.
