Deer Creek gets its name from the natural spring creek that runs through the heart of community. The natural variety in the landscape defines the shape of our community — surrounded by pillowing trees, creating a 1 mile greenbelt. Many of the home sites back up to this greenway to create exquisite views of nature from your back door.

Neighborhood Parks
Parks and playgrounds are located throughout Deer Creek. Just north of the creek is a 6.5-acre park connected to the trail systems. In the future, another 20-acre city park will be developed south of the creek as well. City parks are also located on the north and south ends of the neighborhood. The parks are fun, easy, and safe for the whole family to access.
Natural Creek
The natural creek is the namesake for this community. It runs through the heart of the development and is a great location to watch the trees change colors, observe animals drinking from the creek, and take in all the beauty that Mother Nature has to offer.
Walking Trails
Our trail system is a great place to walk with the kids, ride bikes safely, exercise, or enjoy the outdoors. The trails will take you from park to park and throughout the entire community.
Future Business and Entertainment District
Residents will have easy access to just about anything they need! Within two-miles you will find shops, restaurants, churches, and grocery stores.
Let’s Go Fishing
Residents can walk to any of the six fully stocked Ponds within Deer Creek. Catch Large Mouth Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, and Channel Catfish.
Convenient Access to Interstate
Deer Creek is approximately one mile from I-35. Residents will have easy access to downtown Des Moines, the Des Moines International Airport, and Ames.
